Description

Westlake Dermatology is hiring for a full-time 5-day week Patient Coordinator in our Downtown Austin Office. Patient Coordinators are essential for greeting patients upon arrival and making them feel welcome. Responsibilities include scheduling, maintaining patient information, answering phones, verifying insurance, and general office duties. They are also responsible for checking patients in/out, collecting payments, and explaining charges and insurance to patients. All interactions should be professional, accurate, and courteous.

  • Problem-solving skills and multitasking ability
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Respectful and positive attitude towards patients and staff
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology
  • Discretion in handling patient information and difficult situations
  • Ability to handle large transactions with ease
  • Ability to sit for long periods
  • May include some lifting of boxes

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients professionally and check them in/out
  • Manage patient flow and communicate delays
  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments
  • Verify and update patient and insurance information
  • Collect payments and reconcile records
  • Prepare deposits and manage charts
  • Respond to messages and answer phones professionally
  • Ensure proper authorization and referrals
  • Assist with checkout, product recommendations, and inventory
  • Maintain office procedures and HIPAA compliance
  • Follow company policies and maintain good attendance

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required
  • College degree preferred
  • Medical office or veterinary experience is a plus

Job Details

Type: Full-time

Compensation: $18/hour plus benefits and 401K options
