Job summary

Trinity Health in Ann Arbor is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant to support the Nursing Resource Pool. You will perform routine patient care tasks under the RN supervision for high-risk suicide precaution patients, including feeding, hygiene, mobility assistance, and monitoring.

The role requires a high school diploma and CPR/BLS certification, with shifts from 11 pm to 7:30 am. Employment is available as full-time or part-time, with daily pay and a comprehensive benefits package from day one.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma and CPR or BLS Certification
• Experience: Able to maintain professionalism and self-control in difficult or stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

• Setting up food tray, assist with eating
• Assisting patient with basic hygiene needs (bathing, brushing teeth)
• Offering fluids
• Accompanying patient on walks
• Assisting patient to bathroom or chair
• Providing Diversionary activities
• Replacing nasal cannula
• Re-applying intermittent compression devises (ICDs or SCDs)
• Patient Safey Attendants will remain with, and observe the assigned patient at all times.
• Companions will arrange meal and break time with the patient's nurse to ensure that the patient is never unattended.

Nursing Resource Pool:

Patient safety attendants perform specific patient care activities as assigned by the patient's RN considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. They will be working with high risk suicide precaution patients.

• Offering fluids
• Accompanying patient on walks
• Assisting patient to bathroom or chair
• Providing Diversionary activities

Patient Safey Attendants will remain with, and observe the assigned patient at all times. Patient must be in direct observation. Companions will arrange meal and break time with the patient's nurse to ensure that the patient is never unattended.

Shifts Available: 11 pm-7:30am

Status Available: Full-time, Part-time

Every Other Weekend and Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-time team members.
