Job summary

Trinity Health MI in Ann Arbor is seeking compassionate PCT/CNA/MA staff to provide high-quality patient care in a float pool setting. The role supports RN-directed care, focusing on activities of daily living and safe patient handling.

Responsibilities include assisting with mobility, hygiene, specimen collection, IV catheter care, and accurate documentation. Training and orientation are provided to ensure success on shift schedules including nights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of direct care experience or completion of CENA or PCT course.
• Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with ADLs including bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation and feeding.
• Collect and send specimens and manage IV catheter procedures; document patient information as required.
• Offer scheduling flexibility and float nursing coverage within Trinity Health Arbor.
• Provide orientation and training to support equipment, processes and procedures.

Position Purpose:

The PCT, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.

Shifts Available:

10:30pm-7:00am; 7 pm-7am

Status Available:

Full-time, Part-time

Every Other Weekend and 4 Holidays per year (at least 1 Winter) required for Full-time and Part-time team members.

Required Education / Licensure

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long term) or successful completion of CENA or PCT course.
• Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

What you will do:

• Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success.
• The PCT assists patient in completing ADLs including: Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection.
• A PCT will collects and send specimens including blood and blood cultures and inserts and removes peripheral IV catheters. They are responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation requirements.
• Offers you increased flexibility in your scheduling, while allowing you to float only at Trinity Health Arbor.
