Job summary

ROMTech is seeking a Patient Collections Specialist to support the revenue cycle by managing patient balances after insurance adjudication. You will engage patients to explain financial responsibility and arrange payments with empathy, helping reduce receivables and improve collections while ensuring a positive patient financial experience.

In this in-office position in Clearwater, you will handle outbound and inbound calls, document activities, and escalate complex cases as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, collections, account resolution, healthcare administration, or a related field.
• Preferred CRCR/CPAR or similar revenue cycle certification.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review patient accounts to identify balances due after payer adjudication.
• Place outbound calls to patients regarding outstanding balances.
• Explain patient financial responsibility including deductibles, copays, coinsurance.
• Document all collection activities and payment arrangements in the system.
• Escalate disputed or complex accounts to billing leadership.
• Receive and manage inbound calls about balances and inquiries.
• Maintain accurate account records and timely follow-up.
• Protect confidential patient and financial information per HIPAA.
