Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web-based applications.
• MA, EMT, CNA, LNA certificate or diploma; or at least 5 months of direct patient care experience in a clinical or research setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical assisting duties including vital signs, height/weight, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assisting during routine procedures; ensures patient care areas are clean and stocked.
• Performs point-of-care testing and collects specimens; provides instructions for tests.
• Monitors and maintains medical equipment and supplies; ensures proper sterilization and expiration dates.
• Reviews medication lists in the EMR for clinician final review; may retrieve Schedule VI and OTC meds under supervision.
• Uses EMR to queue prescription renewals and document tasks for billing; records patient interactions accurately.
