Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians with patient care, rooming patients, and handling clerical and environmental tasks. You will schedule appointments, manage charts in EPIC, and provide patient information to optimize service utilization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; must meet MA, CNA, EMT, or paramedic program.
• Experience: minimum of one year as MA/CNA/EMT/ACA/PCA/paramedic/phlebotomist; new grads considered.
• Certification: CCMA/CMA/AAMA/RMA preferred; BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care and room patients; prepare for visits and document histories.
• Perform administrative duties: schedule appointments, manage charts, and enter data into EPIC.
• Maintain infection control; clean exam rooms and sterilize equipment as required.
• Assist with chaperone duties for procedures and provide patient education and referrals as instructed by providers.
• Coordinate pre-authorizations and support care coordination and billing processes.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in quality improvement activities.
