Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and patient care teams in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will room patients, assist with procedures, and help with front desk tasks including scheduling and chart management.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, documenting histories in EPIC, ensuring infection control, and coordinating with care teams. Strong communication, compassion, and adaptability are essential for delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required. Certification via MA program or Phlebotomy may satisfy education.
• Experience: at least 1 year as MA, CNA, EMT, PCA/PCT, paramedic, or phlebotomist; new grads considered with limited experience.
• CCMA/CMA/AAMA/RMA preferred; BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care tasks as assigned and prepare patients for visits.
• Assist physicians and providers with procedures and obtain pre-authorizations as needed.
• Handle administrative duties: medical records, scheduling, and EPIC charting.
• Maintain infection control and clean exam/procedure rooms between visits.
• Support care coordination and patient-focused initiatives within the clinic.
• Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement activities.
