Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required (preferred).
• Six months phlebotomy experience, training, or national certification preferred.
• Ability to use multiple computer systems and document patient care.
• Must adhere to PPE and safety regulations in inpatient/outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing using venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, or throat swab techniques.
• Communicate procedures and instructions with patients and families with empathy.
• Participate in CODE response teams and assist in special projects as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and comply with laboratory standards.
• Support training and mentoring of new staff and ongoing competency.
• Utilize multiple computer systems for documentation and workflow.
