Job summary

Intermountain Health Logan Regional Hospital in Logan, Utah, is seeking a Phlebotomist I to accurately collect and handle patient specimens for diagnostic testing, following best practices and safety guidelines.

The role involves venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections across inpatient, outpatient, and ED settings, including newborns and ICU patients, while adhering to safety regulations. On-call shifts and holiday rotations may be required to meet department needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Preferred.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy training or national certification as approved by manager/supervisor. Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing in a professional medical environment.
• Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections across patient types.
• Adhere to laboratory safety and compliance standards and PPE requirements.
• Communicate procedures and instructions with patients and family members with empathy in every interaction.
• Support growth and training initiatives, participate in code response teams, specimen processing, and special projects.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe work environment; navigate multiple computer systems.
• Be available for on-call shifts and holiday rotations as required.
