Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital in Ohio. The role draws blood, prepares specimens for lab testing, and handles clerical tasks to support an efficient laboratory department.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED and any phlebotomy experience; certification is preferred but not required. Travel to off-site locations may be required, and a strong emphasis on customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and the community providing excellent service.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures and ensure proper processing.
• Identify patients accurately; verify identity with requested service.
• Enter data and process specimens including labeling, centrifuging and freezing as ordered.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks, stocking supplies and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
