Job summary

AltaMed Health Services Corp. is seeking a Medical Assistant II to serve as an ambassador at the assigned clinic, PSC, or Patient Registry team. The MA II welcomes patients, supports direct care, and documents in the EHR while assisting with back-office processes and mentorship.

Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred, with a focus on compassionate, respectful patient care. The role emphasizes building trust with patients, coordinating care, and supporting department goals through teamwork

Qualifications

• A Medical Assistant certificate, along with a high school diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a back office Medical Assistant preferred in the outpatient setting, medical practice, or clinic setting.
• Phlebotomy certified preferred
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification, preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location, strongly preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and attentive to patients, creating a positive patient experience and managing expectations with compassion and respect.
• Assist in the provision of direct patient care by performing routine procedures and clerical support in the clinical setting.
• Document all specialties in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and assist with administrative responsibilities.
• Provide mentoring and training to Medical Assistant team and support Nursing Supervisor/Manager.
• If working at the Patient Service Center, perform other duties over the telephone.
