Job summary

St. David’s Georgetown Hospital is seeking a Food Service Associate (PRN) to support the food service department across cafeteria, tray line, and patient meal services.

You will read patient meal tickets, prepare trays, deliver meals, and maintain a clean kitchen while following safety procedures. Prior food service or customer service experience is preferred, with ServSafe or state permits required within 7 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service or customer service – preferred.
• Knowledge of cash register operation and money handling – preferred.
• 10th grade education or high school graduate or GED equivalent – preferred.
• Current ServSafe Food Handler Permit, county health department card or state permit within 7 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service to patients by reading meal tickets and preparing trays.
• Deliver meals to patient rooms and remove trays after meals.
• Prepare food items for cafeteria and label appropriately.
• Maintain a clean kitchen and handle food items per procedures.
• Keep workstation, floors, carts, dishware, and areas clean; take out trash.
• Set up and work assigned position on tray line or cafeteria.
• Gather food items in pantry and freezer areas.
