Job summary

UPMC St. Margaret's Medical Arts Building is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for patients, visitors, and staff.

You will perform routine cleaning, disinfect high-touch surfaces, manage waste, restock supplies, and support infection prevention standards. Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms and public areas, following established procedures, reporting equipment issues, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Prior cleaning experience or background in environmental services preferred.
• Ability to follow established cleaning procedures and infection prevention standards.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and support patient care areas.

Responsibilities

• Make beds and clean patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Clean patient rooms, public areas, toilets, offices and equipment following procedures.
• Restock paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in assigned locations.
• Maintain and report issues with equipment and supplies to supervisor.
• Follow safety, sanitation rules and use proper hand hygiene.
• Move equipment and furniture as needed while cleaning obstructed areas.
• Dispose of waste according to hospital policies and procedures.
• Perform routine cleaning to keep patient care areas sanitary and safe.
