Job summary

UPMC Trinity is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to help create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors. Your work will support the quality of care provided by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with room setup, and following infection control guidelines.

Responsibilities include disinfecting rooms, managing supplies and waste, and adhering to safety standards, risk management practices and HIPAA privacy requirements.

Qualifications

• Clean, disinfect, and maintain patient rooms, public areas and equipment following established procedures.
• Prepare rooms for new patients (including bed-making and discharge cleaning).
• Adhere to all organizational safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
• Maintain cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment.
• Remove waste and transport to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste stream handling (recycle, solid, hazardous etc.).
• Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).
• May be asked to perform tasks according to various facility needs, including conference room set ups.
• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
