Job summary

South Texas Health System seeks an experienced RN leader to oversee patient care for medical and surgical cases. You will assess, plan, guide, and evaluate nursing care, ensuring safety and quality in alignment with hospital policies.

The role requires coordination with the healthcare team and may involve working weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, or on-call status as part of patient coverage. Texas nursing licensure and BLS/ACLS as applicable are required.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas or compact state.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required or pursued if applicable to unit.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical/surgical care as a nursing leader.
• Provide safe, competent nursing care in line with policies and standards.
• Assess, plan, guide and evaluate nursing care and lead the healthcare team.
• Coordinate with hospital staff and departments and be available for weekends/holidays/nights as needed.
