Job summary

Family Healthcare of Hagerstown is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support under the Clinical Supervisor. You will assist with patient intake, exams, procedures, vital signs, documentation in the EHR, and care coordination in a community health setting.

This role emphasizes patient-centered care, teamwork, adherence to infection control, and participation in ongoing education. Eligibility requires MA training and BLS certification; CMA/RMA preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program required.
• Proficient typing and documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for both MA levels.
• Experience in Family Practice, Primary Care, Pediatrics, or Community Health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers and clinical staff in delivering quality patient care within a community health center setting.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs, health histories, and other clinical information.
• Perform clinical procedures and point-of-care testing within scope of practice and organizational policies.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed and authorized.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, testing, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Assist providers during examinations and clinical procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals as assigned.
