Job summary

Forefront is seeking a cook to prepare meals in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, with safety and patient care in mind. You will assist in all meal preparation, help deliver and take orders as needed, and follow directions from the Chef Manager or Director.

You will follow standardized recipes, monitor temperatures, complete production worksheets, ensure quality, and supervise storage and sanitation. Attendance at meetings and ongoing training are required.

Qualifications

• Follows standardized recipes, portioning, menu extensions, and presentation standards.
• Completes and utilizes daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
• Tastes completed meals to ensure quality standards.
• Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods to meet established goals.
• Reports equipment breakdowns and unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Keeps compliance with health and sanitation regulations and audits.

Responsibilities

• The Cook prepares food in accordance with current standards and policies while assuring patient safety.
• Assists in all preparation of resident, family, and employee meals and helps deliver and take orders as needed.
• Supervise and assist in storage of supplies and food products; notify supervisors of needs.
• Attends department meetings and completes mandatory training and competencies annually.
• Demonstrates accountability for personal and professional growth and required certifications/licenses, if applicable.
