Job summary

Forefront is seeking a Cook to prepare food in line with applicable standards and policies, ensuring patient safety and quality. You will assist in meal preparation, help with deliveries and orders, and support the Chef Manager and Director in daily operations.

You will follow standardized recipes, monitor temperatures, maintain logs, and supervise storage and inventory. Compliance with health regulations, safety rules, and company policies is essential, with regular training and meetings

Responsibilities

• Follows standardized recipes, portioning, menu extensions, and presentation standards.
• Completes and utilizes daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
• Tastes completed meals to ensure quality standards.
• Monitors temperature of hot and cold foods to meet established goals during service.
• Checks and inspects food products and supplies as delivered in the absence of the Chef Manager/Director.
• Supervises and assists in storage of supplies and food products.
• Notifies Chef Manager or Director of supplies or equipment needs.
• Reports equipment breakdowns and unsafe conditions to the Chef Manager/Director.
• Complies with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures as evidenced by audits.
• Performs other department duties assigned by the Chef Manager/Director.
• Acts in conformance with facility and department policies including HR, ethics, safety, compliance, patient rights, confidentiality, and HIPAA; adheres to accrediting agency standards.
• Attends department meetings as required.
• Demonstrates accountability for personal/professional growth and required certifications/licenses.
• Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.
