Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a part-time unit secretary to support clinical and clerical duties in the patient care area. Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Requires prior acute patient care experience or completion of IU Health PCA education program.
• Requires current Basic Life Support certification (AHA) or completion of IU Health PCA education program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.
• Support the patient care team and maintain a clean, orderly environment.
• Provide information and directions to physicians, patients, families, customers and vendors.
• Schedule tests and procedures for patients and maintain records.
• Sign patients in and out of the unit and handle equipment and supplies as needed.
• May order, receive and deliver equipment and supplies for the patient care team.
• May provide continuous observation including suicide prevention.
