Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo seeks a unit clerk to provide clerical and data management services for the Patient Care Unit under RN supervision. You will attend to patients' direct care needs and support a culture of Service Excellence.

Responsibilities include assisting the RN with care plan implementation, providing unit-based records duties, and coordinating unit needs while maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Typing test completion required.
• Health Unit Coordinator course or equivalent preferred.
• Current BLS certification required on hire.
• HWC and Verbal De-escalation training within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN with implementation of an age-appropriate plan of care through tasks routinely delegated by the RN, based on the patient’s condition and the individual’s skills.
• Provides clerical support, performs unit based medical records duties, and coordinates unit needs.
• Attends to the patient's direct care needs as delegated by the RN and supports a culture of Service Excellence.
