Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System is seeking a Patient Care Unit Clerk in Amarillo, TX to provide clerical and data management support under the supervision of the Charge Nurse. You will assist with patient care tasks delegated by the RN and help maintain a safe, efficient unit focused on Service Excellence.

The role requires strong English communication, ability to read medical terminology, and readiness to obtain BLS and unit trainings within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of typing test.
• Experience with medical terminology or Health Unit Coordinator course.
• Current BLS certification upon hire.
• HWC and Verbal De-escalation within 30 days of hire.
• Must possess one of the following: CNA Certificate or equivalent; 2 years patient care; EMT Certification; LVN/ADN/BSN enrollment; Medical Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical and data management services for the Patient Care Unit under RN supervision.
• Attends to patients' direct care needs and supports a service-excellence culture.
• Assists RN with age-appropriate plan of care and maintains a safe environment on the unit.
