Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Unit Clerk to provide clerical and data management support under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, attending to patient needs and assisting with routine tasks as delegated by the RN, while upholding Service Excellence standards.

The role emphasizes maintaining patient records, coordinating unit needs, and contributing to a safe, compassionate environment for patients, families and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of typing test.
• Previous experience with medical terminology or Health Unit Coordinator training.
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintenance.
• HWC and Verbal De-escalation within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical and data management services for the Patient Care Unit under RN supervision.
• Attends to patient care needs and supports a safe, patient-centered environment.
• Performs unit-based medical records duties and coordinates unit needs.
