Job summary

Grandview Medical Center – Birmingham, AL seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vitals, support feeding and hygiene, and help maintain a clean, safe care environment.

The role emphasizes accurate data collection, communication with the care team, infection control, and adherence to safety protocols. CNA preferred or active nursing program participation is desirable.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care, performing delegated basic patient care services, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Collect and record patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, oxygen saturation, intake/output, and calorie counts, reporting findings to the RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, oral care, grooming, linen changes, skin care, elimination assistance, and urinary catheter care.
• Assist with patient positioning, repositioning, dangling, ambulating, and mobility aids.
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform blood glucose monitoring; document results for RN/LPN/LVN.
• Communicate patient information to the care team and adhere to safety protocols.
