Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred; college coursework preferred.
• Completion of an accredited clinical assistant program or medical assistant program strongly preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification is also preferred.
• In some cases, Nurse Students in an accredited Bachelor’s program with at least 2 completed clinical rotations may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, families, and colleagues promptly in a welcoming and courteous manner.
• Maintains patient safety, privacy, confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Obtains and records vital signs, pain screens, weights and heights in the Epic system.
• Obtains specimens and ensures accurate labeling with two identifiers.
• Performs phlebotomy and EKG as applicable.
• Transports patients, records, specimens and equipment as needed.
• Assists with unit specific procedural needs and supports nursing/medical staff.
