Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Completion of an accredited clinical assistant or medical assistant program preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Nurse students with clinical rotations may be considered.
• BLS certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and families in a welcoming, courteous manner.
• Obtains vital signs, weights/heights, and pain screens; documents accurately.
• Collects specimens and ensures proper labeling with patient identifiers.
• Performs phlebotomy and EKG as applicable.
• Transports patients, records, specimens and equipment as needed.
• Maintains stock of supplies and clean, safe patient care areas.
• Provides patient education and supports infection control measures.
• Works with the team to coordinate care and respond to emergencies.
