Job summary

South Shore Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Clinical Assistant to support direct patient care and efficient clinic operations. You will obtain vital signs, assist with specimen collection, phlebotomy, and basic EKG while maintaining patient privacy and accurate Epic records.

The role requires strong teamwork, organization, and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment, with preference for completing accredited clinical assistant or medical assistant training and, optionally, phlebotomy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is strongly preferred; college coursework encouraged.
• Completion of an accredited clinical assistant or medical assistant program preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification is also preferred; Nurse students may be considered.
• Related work experience is advantageous in a busy clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and families promptly, provides courteous assistance.
• Obtains vital signs, pain screens, weights/heights; records in Epic.
• Performs phlebotomy and basic EKG; supports nursing staff with procedures.
• Ensures inventory and supplies; maintains clean, safe patient areas.
• Transports patients and specimens; adheres to HIPAA and privacy guidelines.
• Assists with unit operations, education materials, and documentation.
