Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide designated direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed clinical team members. You will support the interprofessional team and address the physiological, emotional, and social needs of a diverse patient population.

Collaborating with telehealth and on-site staff, you will assist with safety, supplies, and equipment, and participate in virtual examinations when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope.
• Knowledge of personal care and hygiene for quality of life.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with patients and families.
• Understanding of safety and infection control in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient care needs under direction of licensed clinical team members.
• Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds as assigned, responds to patient call lights promptly.
• May be assigned as a virtual safety associate as needed based on campus needs.
