Job summary

Carson Valley Health seeks a Patient Care Tech for CVH Urgent Care/Occ Health to support reception duties, patient check-in, and basic care tasks. You will coordinate scheduling, manage registrations, and assist with telemedicine in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining documentation, verifying insurance, and supporting clinicians with orders and patient flow while ensuring quality care and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within the first 90 days of employment.
• Office Laboratory Assistant license or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Professional customer service skills.
• Previous clerical/unit clerk experience.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology, proper grammar, and spelling.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read and communicate in English; bilingual abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors; register and schedule appointments per CVH standards.
• Check patients in using the EHR; obtain consents and necessary paperwork.
• Complete vital signs and assist with basic patient care activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation from admission through discharge; manage forms and records.
• Coordinate with departments for scheduling diagnostic tests and treatments.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
