Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred Acute care experience within last 3 years.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program.
• Preference given to those enrolled in Associates or Bachelor’s degree Nursing programs and completed at least one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as activities of daily living, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, intake and output, meal consumption, glucose testing, bladder scanning, transporting patients and their medical record, documentation of O2, early mobilization and ambulation protocols, and assist with exams, treatments and procedures.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives such as bedside shift report and hourly rounding promoting safety and cleanliness.
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, restraints, specimen collection and other treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning and retrieval.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
