Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR may be required; unit secretary training may be provided.
• Basic life support certifications may be required.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of infection control principles.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.
• Perform unit clerical duties and support the patient care team.
• Maintain patient records and sign patients in and out of the unit.
• May schedule tests and procedures for patients.
• Assist with ordering, receiving and delivering equipment and supplies.
• Provide continuous observation including suicide prevention when required.
