Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Evanston Hospital on evenings. This part-time role (24 hr/wk) runs Monday–Friday, 3:00 pm–11:30 pm with rotating weekends.

Under RN supervision you will deliver patient care, take vitals, perform 12‑lead EKGs, assist with Foley care, bathing, and discharge prep. CNA training preferred or nursing clinical rotation; current BLS required; 1 year of patient-facing service preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
