Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; zero to six months job-related experience.
• Experience in a hospital environment is preferred but not required.
• Active CNA certification and BLS/CPR within 90 days of start date or orientation

Responsibilities

• Provides physical care to assigned patients and performs technical skills as directed.
• Implements nursing orders promptly with understanding of purpose.
• Follows policy for patient care activities and equipment handling.
• Maintains patient comfort, safety, and privacy; responds with courtesy and efficiency.
• Enters data into the computer system as applicable.
• Communicates patient and visitor information to the nurse in charge.
• Provides age-appropriate care and understands growth and development.
• Reports changes in patient condition to the nurse in charge.
• Establishes priorities in patient care and uses good judgement.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment on the unit.
• Participates in staff meetings and reads meeting minutes.
• Maintains competency for Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
