VCU Health is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to provide direct, age-appropriate care in the Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery Unit. You will monitor patients, assist with hygiene and safety, and support the care plan under RN supervision.

The role requires completing essential safety protocols, maintaining equipment, and participating in mandatory trainings. CNA/EMT experience and high school diploma are preferred. Daytime shifts with no nights or weekends.

Qualificações

• Must have a high school degree or equivalent.
• Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• Minimum qualifications include CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT, Military Corpsman/Medic or Nursing Aide Training, or healthcare experience.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct, age-appropriate care to patients and monitor conditions, reporting updates to the health care team.
• Assist with personal hygiene, safety needs, and comfort for patients in the unit.
• Follow nursing/medical plans and hospital policies to deliver care.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stocked clinical area to support patient needs and team function.
• Observe and document patient information including vital signs and intake/output.
• Assist with specimen collection for diagnostic tests when needed.
• Attend mandatory trainings and adhere to infection control policies.
• Collaborate with team to ensure patient safety and report any incidents promptly.
