Job summary

Uvalde Memorial Hospital in Uvalde, TX, seeks a Patient Care Technician to support the Respiratory team with non-invasive cardiac testing and compassionate patient care. Qualifications

Responsibilities

In this role, you'll perform EKGs and other non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures while helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and cared for throughout their testing experience. In This Role, You Will:

• Accurately document test results in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and hospital systems.

• Follow infection control, safety, HIPAA, and hospital requirements.
• Participate in continuing education and quality improvement activities.

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
• Completion of required EKG interpretation courses within six months of hire.
• Previous EKG technician or healthcare experience preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified EKG Technician, or Certified Phlebotomy Technician credential preferred.
• Understanding of heart anatomy, EKG readings, and EKG equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and healthcare team members.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and focused while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
