Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Inpatient General Pulmonary Unit in Elmhurst, IL. The role is full-time, 36 hours per week, with three 12-hour shifts from 7am to 7:30pm and scheduled weekend rotation in a busy hospital setting.

Under RN direction, you will perform patient care tasks to ensure safety, comfort and quality care, leveraging strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification from American Heart Association.
• Completed accredited nursing assistant training or ≥6 months patient care experience.
• Completion of care companion course within 6 months if required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care tasks to support comfort and safety.
• Perform patient care procedures as directed and maintain bedside care.
• Demonstrate teamwork, prioritize tasks, and follow directions effectively.

Position Highlights

• Position: Patient Care Technician - Inpatient General Pulmonary Unit
• Location: Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126
• Full-Time: 36 hours per week
• Hours:7am-7:30pm (three 12 hour shifts) with every 3rd weekend rotation and holiday track

What You Will Do

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What You Will Need

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
