Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Inpatient General Medical/Surgical Unit at Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus. Part-time, 24 hours weekly, with 7pm–7:30am shifts and every 3rd weekend rotation.

Under the supervision of an RN, you will perform essential patient care tasks to ensure safety, comfort and well-being. A CNA or equivalent experience plus current CPR certification are required, along with strong teamwork and prioritization skills.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Completion of an accredited nursing assistant training or 6 months of patient care experience or nursing rotation.
• Completion of care Companion Course within six months if required by department.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork and ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, perform patient care tasks and procedures to ensure safety, comfort and well-being.
• Prioritize tasks and follow directions from nursing staff.

Hourly Pay Range

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Patient Care Technician - Inpatient General Medical/Surgical Unit
• Location: Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126
• Part-Time: 24 hours per week
• Hours:7pm-7:30am (two/three 12 hour shifts) with every 3rd weekend rotation and holiday track

What You Will Do

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What You Will Need

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
