Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist a diverse patient population under the supervision of registered nurses. You will perform direct and indirect care, support the care team, and help ensure patient safety and comfort while following established protocols.

The role involves collecting vitals, performing venipuncture, EKGs, specimen handling, and assisting with daily patient activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of one of: PCT/CNA/MA program; Fundamentals of Nursing; HMH PCT Apprenticeship; or equivalent medical background.
• Able to learn quickly, teamwork, and strong patient-focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support under RN supervision across age groups.
• Record clinical data: vitals, intake/output, and notify RN of abnormal findings.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens as directed.
• Conduct EKGs and ensure equipment readiness and cleanliness.
• Assist with transport, hygiene, and patient comfort.
• Ensure proper labeling and documentation of specimens.
