A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Dialysis Technician to join their team. PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Functions as part of the dialysis health care team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsibilities include setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting quality improvement activities to meet organizational goals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Education: Assist in providing patient-specific education regarding adequacy measures and disease process/access.
Treatment: Welcome patients, evaluate vascular access, perform treatments, monitor responses, document care, and report changes. Ensure safety and proper machine operation, including alarm management and treatment documentation.
Assist in training direct care staff under supervision of a nurse.
Follow policies, maintain a clean environment, prepare for treatments, and support infection control practices.
Participate in CQI activities, document treatment data accurately, prepare charts and lab specimens, and ensure proper record maintenance.
Support infection control policies, assist in audits, and reinforce education on infection prevention.
Support new patients through their first 4 weeks, reinforce education, coordinate care, and assist with transition to home dialysis options.
Work involves physical activity including lifting, standing, and assisting patients, with accommodations available for disabilities.
High school diploma or G.E.D. required; certification and licensure as per state and CMS requirements; commitment to organization values.
Previous patient care experience preferred; successful completion of dialysis training and CPR required.
Rate of pay: $15.00 - $25.00/hour. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and parental leave.
Clinic hours: Monday-Saturday, 4:00 am - 4:30 pm, rotating shifts. No experience needed; on-the-job training provided.
