Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a licensed nurse, provides patient care by performing basic procedures and selected specialized procedures that contribute to patient well-being, comfort and safety.
• Performs venipuncture for blood samples and places electrodes for telemetry readings.
• Collects patient data and documents findings on flow sheets.
• Attends to patients’ environmental needs and provides comfort measures as directed by the nurse.
• Participates in Quality Assurance activities and orients patients/families to the unit as directed by the nurse.
• Performs other duties to support unit functioning and patient care delivery.
