• Two years of health care delivery experience or two clinical semesters completed as a Nursing Student, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Participates in delivery of patient care under direct supervision of a nurse.
• Performs basic and selected specialized procedures to support patient well-being, comfort and safety.
• Performs venipuncture for blood samples, EKGs, and places electrodes for telemetry readings.
• Collects patient data and documents on flow sheets per policy.
• Collects specimens and may perform basic tests or send to lab per hospital policies.
• Assists with environmental needs and comfort measures on unit.
• Participates in Quality Assurance activities as directed by nurse.
• Orients patient and family to unit and provides information per policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned by nurse.
