Job summary

Rochester Regional Health in Rochester, NY seeks a part-time Patient Care Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under licensed nurse supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, EKGs, transfers, and patient comfort while maintaining safety and a positive patient experience.

The role requires 18+ years old with preferred CNA certification or Nursing Fundamentals background and 1+ year of medical assistant/technician experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CNA certification or Nursing Fundamentals strongly preferred.
• Experience as a medical assistant/technician in a health-related facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning of equipment, changes bed linens, stocks supplies, and prepares rooms for admissions.
• Provides safe and competent care for nutritional, skin integrity, elimination and hygiene needs including bathing and grooming.
• Under RN direction, performs clinical duties: vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG, one-to-one care, admissions and discharges.
• Collects and handles specimens per procedures.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families; demonstrates compassion and professionalism.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and proper use of lift devices.
• Adheres to safety initiatives; supports post-mortem care as needed.
• Responds to patient call lights promptly and attends to requests for assistance.
