Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the 3 West Ortho/Trauma Unit. The unit serves musculoskeletal patients and related conditions in a 24-bed inpatient setting, with a focus on high-quality perioperative and post-surgical care.

The role reports to a registered nurse and requires flexible rotating shifts, including roughly 7pm–7am and 7am–7pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire
• CNA/NCMA/NCPCT/US Navy Hospital Corps School or equivalent credentials acceptable

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Assist with admissions and discharge processes and follow patient safety practices
• Observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes to the nurse
