Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Nursing Resource Pool on the day shift, full-time (7A–7P). You will assist with patient care, vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, and testing under RN supervision.

You will document observations, support safety practices, and participate in Foley catheter and IV procedures as directed. BLS and healthcare eligibility required of candidates.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent certification preferred.
• Clinical program enrollment acceptable; RN/LPN/RT/PT students considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Record vital signs, mobility, and ambulation.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing and EKGs.
• Remove Foley catheters and IV lines as directed.
• Collect specimens and document observations accurately.
• Report changes to RN or medical staff promptly.
