Job summary

University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is seeking a Nurse Aide II to provide direct patient care under supervision. You will assist in maintaining a safe environment and support patient care needs, including vital signs, hygiene, and daily activities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus 6 months of patient care experience. Certification as a Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant is desired. This is a full-time position with AFSCME union affiliation and hybrid/onsite work options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 6 months recent experience in a patient care setting or junior status in an accredited BSN program or second year in an accredited ADN program is required.
• Ability to read and write required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and monitor patient condition; report abnormalities to RN.
• Assist physicians during procedures and support patients before/during procedures.
• Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing where applicable.
• Help with hygiene, transfers, and daily care activities.
• Respond to monitor alarms and maintain a safe patient environment.
