Job summary

Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor seeks a Psychiatric Care/Nurse Aide Worker to provide 1:1 patient care under RN supervision. The role may serve any inpatient unit, including ICUs, and may involve video monitoring to support patient safety and care.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient assessments, vital signs, ADLs, specimen collection, and collaboration with unit staff to maintain a therapeutic environment. Prior CNA/patient care tech experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 care of patients with acute mental illness under RN supervision.
• Assist with observation, data collection, and patient care planning.
• Assist with ADLs, specimen collection, vital signs, and procedures as directed.
• Support safety and a therapeutic environment across inpatient units.
