Job summary

UF Health Shands Homecare seeks a dedicated Patient Care Technician to assist patients with healthcare needs under RN supervision. You will provide bedside care and basic nursing procedures, and may perform phlebotomy as appropriate.

Shifts are full-time, 36 hours per week, from 7:00pm to 7:00am with rotating nights. Training is provided to ensure safe patient handling and adherence to hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Hands-on patient care experience or 2nd semester RN student.
• CNA, EMT, or CMA certification required within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents vital signs and weight; reports abnormalities to nurse.
• Assists with personal care: bathing, dressing, dietary needs, toileting.
• Performs phlebotomy, collects and labels specimens per protocol; glucose monitoring.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers; updates tracking systems.
