Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Oakland seeks a Patient Care Technician to support the Registered Nurse in delivering safe, quality care to patients. You will assist with mobility, daily activities, vital signs, specimen transport, and timely documentation.

This role emphasizes teamwork, compassion, and attentiveness, with opportunities to perform EKGs as required and to work in a patient-centered environment. May provide sitter duties to enhance patient safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum six (6) months experience in a hospital, clinic or in a SNF/Home Health setting as a nurse assistant.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Preferred: California State Nurse Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Nurse to meet patient needs and provide safe, quality care.
• Provide patient care tasks including mobility, turning and ambulation, and handling transport of specimens and prescriptions.
• Assist with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, toileting, hydration, answering calls, and monitoring vital signs.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by delivering supplies and ensuring a tidy bedside and linens.
• May act as a sitter to support patient safety and engage patients in diversional activities.
• Demonstrates analytical thinking, problem solving and teamwork in daily duties.
