Job summary

Ascension is seeking a compassionate patient care assistant to support our nursing team with clinical and non-clinical tasks. You will help patients with movement, personal care, and daily activities, while maintaining safety and dignity.

In this role you will monitor patient conditions, document observations, and ensure rooms and equipment are clean and organized. A current BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire, with a high school diploma or equivalent as a baseline qualification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of applicable job-specific experience may be required.
• BLS/CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to assist with movement, ADLs, and patient comfort.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical and non-clinical support under nursing guidance.

• Deliver essential clinical and non-clinical support to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety under the guidance of our nursing team.

• Maintain precise patient records and uphold a clean, organized, and fully-stocked environment to ensure seamless clinical operations.

• Aids with movement and placement of patients.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
• Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
