Sentara is currently hiring a Patient Care Technician to work at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on the Intermediate Care Unit 3 East.
Hours/Shift:
Full-time, dayshift. 7am to 7pm
Department/Position Overview:
Are you looking to test your skills and learn new ones? This 33-bed intermediate care step down unit provides care for high acuity patients. Roles and responsibilities of our PCTs include patient rounding, ADLs, and assisting nurses with bedside procedures, among other responsibilities. Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nurse.
