Job Description

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Instructor (Patient Care Technician) position, in the Academic and Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Tech's main campus, just south of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision, the Patient Care Technician Instructor will be responsible for instructing and supervising students in the Patient Care Technician Program.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques and develop course outlines, goals, and objectives;
2. Monitor and manage the class schedules for the non-credit Patient Care Technician program, as well as the program's master course schedule;
3. Assist in verifying program learning outcomes and follow approved curriculum standards and course syllabi;
4. Prepare and deliver quality curriculum with daily instruction of students;
5. Use appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and records;
6. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with knowledge of current procedures in the nursing field;
7. Follow approved curriculum standards and course syllabi;
8. Assist with student recruitment, job placement, and provide advising and counseling, maintaining appropriate records;
9. Monitor student use of supplies, materials, and equipment, and maintain classrooms and laboratories accordingly;
10. Conduct off-site visits to classrooms, labs, and clinical sites to ensure proper instruction;
11. Enforce the institution's policies and regulations;
12. Serve on committees and maintain qualifications as per the Georgia Technical College System;
13. Attend meetings and collaborate with students, staff, and educators on instructional issues;
14. Assist with development and review of program goals, syllabi, and standards;
15. Adhere to rules and policies set by the Technical College System of Georgia and the institution.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess and demonstrate an Associate's Degree in Nursing, an active license as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing, and at least 2 years of work experience as a Registered Nurse, including 1 year of clinical experience in a Long-Term Care Facility.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, five or more years of clinical experience, and educational teaching experience.

Certifications/Licenses

• American Heart Association CPR certification;
• Train-the-Trainer Certificate or ability to obtain upon hire;
• Current Georgia Registered Nurse license in good standing;

Additional teaching locations within the community may be required.
